Prepare for a brand-new platform fighter coming out of the Scratch community! Currently bearing its working title, Scratch Brawl is an exciting project that was announced at ScratchCon 2024. The game would bring together some of the most talented Scratchers alongside brand-new characters into a classic 2D fighter environment. Being in the very early stages, however, the energy and creativity gratefully spilling out of the project are infectious!
Being a platform fighter, players can expect Scratch Brawl to entail fast-paced action, going from levels to brawling with opponents while stringing together move combos and attacks. Although jumping and attacking will be essential mechanics, so will specialized moves and other favors familiar in any platform fighter game. Being just budding, this experience still has a long way in its lineup but is practically present already.
In the meantime, there are none since the game's still in production. Meanwhile, for each platform fighter that comes about, one should observe the community for news and be in the early phases of testing. We have much more to bring to you after a while! Be ready to dive in.
Having surprised the community where the announcement teaser came out of ScratchCon 2024, the delay seemed to engender early anticipation. The closing of this announcement teaser has been accomplished with the able animation skills of @doggerlope and appearances from @SirBob_ and @IncognitoOrange. While the project has and will remain on the sideline, the very early prototyping has started and already flashing good potential ahead.
Not available to the public yet, but chimpanzee on the lookout for updates. The developers are working hard to life the game; thus, being connected with the Scratch community for all updates will be very important.
Each update from Scratch Brawl reflects the spirit of the developers @SirBob_, @doggerlope, and @F_N_g44 as they have a loud passion for both the organization and the platform.
The platforms that the game will be trained on must not have been decided yet, but Scratch Brawl should run on wherever can support a Scratch project so that it can be accessed through the magnitude.
A: We do have something like a signups thing planned for much later, but since those old signups are so old, I figured we should just only accept new ones for when the time comes.
A: No. This is something standalone.
A: Like I mentioned earlier, the game is super early on in development. Heck, we don't even have attacks down yet, just a basic platformer engine. However, once we've gotten a decent chunk of the game finished, we will release a project allowing people to remix and sign up characters they have made to be added to the game.
