What is SUPER MARIO BROS.2?

Originally released in 1988 for the NES, this legendary platformer further added to the series created by its iconic predecessor. Though the game often stands in the shadow of Super Mario Bros. 3, it offered novel mechanics and unique co-op multiplayer mode, making it somewhat of an anomaly in the Mario series. How to Play

Entering Pipes and Doors:
- To enter a pipe, stand on it and press the Down arrow key or S key.
- To enter a door, stand in front of it and press X.

Tips & Tricks

Luigi is able to jump higher but slip a little too much for taller platforms or through tight spaces.
Use dash attacks for quick maneuvers through levels or to reach faraway areas.
Buddy up and communicate in co-op to cover different paths and solve puzzles faster.

Historical Insight

Super Mario Bros. 2 proved a little different from the original inasmuch as it was first created for the Famicom in Japan and later shipped off to North America as a port with some changes. The North American version, or the "Lost Levels," played very differently from the Japanese version, which played more like a classic platformer. This introduced staple items such as "Super Mushrooms," "Fire Flowers" and 'Star Power" into the intermediate Mario games.
